About the City of Lancaster’s Department of Public Art:
Lancaster Public Art (LPA) works to position Lancaster, Pennsylvania as a city distinguished by public artworks and engaged communities through programming and opportunities for local artists.
LPA was looking for a relatively low-budget and easy to use solution to manage their department’s content, events, news and programming. With the help of interns, the department hoped to be able to update their website, on their own, and keep the local community updated on the latest events and offerings.
Site Launching Soon.
From the start of our working relationship, LPA came in knowing they wanted their site to exist on Squarespace, a platform they were already familiar with, and felt comfortable with being able to update on their own.
With each theme’s layout being semi set in stone, I worked with their team to create a few style tiles to decide on a direction to move forward with, after choosing a theme we felt would best serve their needs. The shown tile became our design direction, as we began laying in content and imagery.
